A Trusted Path to NG911 Compliance

In 2024, the FCC mandated that OSPs transition to NG911-capable networks (FCC 24-78). This critical move enhances network resiliency and interoperability among the nation's PSAPs, enabling text, photo, video, and data sharing to improve emergency response outcomes.

The NG911 transition will occur in phases, evolving from legacy TDM to SIP in Phase 1 and i3-enabled SIP in Phase 2. A strict compliance timeframe begins upon receipt of your first valid request from a PSAP, with deadlines set at six months for nationwide OSPs and 12 months for smaller, regional OSPs.

The transition presents several challenges, including managing requests for service (RFSs), monitoring network statuses across various PSAPs, and meeting compliance deadlines. These tasks are time-consuming, require new operational processes, impact resources, and demand expertise. Intrado alleviates the operational burden of NG911 compliance, allowing OSPs to focus on their core business.
